Default Anyone Remember ABIT ?

Ive been out of the computer loop for quite a while, but am quickly getting updated for my upcoming build.

I heard last year sometime that abit might be leaving the mobo market, and now looking around it was supposedly confirmed by un-reliable sources?

All the news articles I can find are from at least a year ago, and don't really give any affirmative news...

Looking on their website shows no recent new products.

Abit was my favorite mobo manufacturer, anyone know the real story?

Thanks!

Edit- I ask this because i am looking to build a high-end system, and would like an abit mobo

You'll be missed ABIT. I've used numerous mobo's of ABIT all highly overclocked. Never had any problems!

Yea, unfortunately Abit fell on hard times and has completely ceased to exist.

2 of my first 3 motherboard were Abit's, they made some really good stuff...

They were suppose to exit the mobo market but ended up closing all of Abit. Last board I saw was their x48 max that never came out.

It sucks they closed down, Abit boards were very good and a lot of them overclocked nicely, too.

Another company bought them a couple years ago when they went bankrupt and they just focused on Motherboards, and then recently, there was talk of them pulling out of the mainboard market and just focusing on Consumer Electronics.
