ok, i know that by now everyone is sick of me asking questions, but i've got one more:

how would a computer with dual 6800GS graphics cards compare with a single 7800GT?

It would outperform it, but definatly go with a single 7800GT card over 2 x 6800GS and just SLI the 7800's later on if you want.
