Default Another AMD vs Intel thread...

So I am in the process of upgrading my Alienware ALX rig.

You can see what I currently have in my specs, but I am thinking of upgrading to either the AMD Phenom 9500, 9600 or the Intel q6600.

What do you guys think...

The Intel processors outperform the AMD equivalents almost everytime. Check out tomshardware.com and compare the two processors on all their benchmarks tests, but I can practically guarantee that the q6600 will be better.

q6600 @3.6ghz ftw. Buy a good cooler, make sure you get a g0 revision of the chip.

q6600 200 (microcenter if you have on in your area)
Thermalright Ultra extreme 120 + fan = 85
Overclocking the bejeezus out of it = priceless.

Yup, The current AMD dual and Quad Cores do not overclock nearly as well compared to the current Intel Dual and Quad Cores.

And the AMD quads are very likely to have a defective core2.
