Hey guys wasn't sure where to put this but I was wondering how long a blank (nothing recorded to it yet) dvd-r stays good for. I've heard once a home made dvd-r is burned they will last anywhere from 2 years to 50 years but what about ones that have no data burned to it from a home computer and is still in its package?

If kept in the package and never used, I imagine it would last at least 20-30 years.

And personally I would've put this in off-topic.

Yea, it will last a good amount of years if it's kept in a good environment, like a house with normal temperatures.

ya, mostlikely a DVD kept in good condition will last you at least 30 years. most likely another 50 after that.

as long as does not get scratched.
