no, it means it will support up to 1066. basically the same way current mobos will work with ddr2 667 or ddr2 800.

i believe that am3 will be the first (amd) to fully support ddr3. not positive on that of course.
also it seems the am2+ will support the higher speed ddr2 (1066) to try and compensate for not using ddr3 this year. i dont think there will be a tremendous performance difference between ddr2 and ddr3.
