I don't know if I'd want to wait that long. The prices will probably be a bit more than I want to put out too.

M2 is the next socket of AMD. It'll support DDR2 among a few other things... But It's not like s939 or even s754 will be completely gone... so i wouldn't worry too much. Besides, the only really big change is DDR2 and you'll only see minor gains from a AMD because of the on die controller.
