Question AMD Cores

What is the difference between all the cores that AMD offers. Such as Sempron, Clawhammer, San Diego, Venice and so on. Some of the CPU's are the same Operating Frequency but with different cores. Are they just cool names?

AMD Athlon XP 3200+
Soyo KT880 Dragon2
1 GB Corsair DDR
80 GB Western Digital HD
ATI Radeon 9800 AGP8X

Default scroll to the bottom to partially answer your questions. the core names have to do with the manu. process, cache size, etc. They're not the same processors

They are just different internal cpu's with different levels of processing power. (If that makes any sense)

AMD is continually refining their cores, so when they officially release a new core, they give it a new name.
