AMD 440 install

Do I have to use a third party "thermal interface material" to install if I use the stock CPU cooler?? The instructions are confusing, I wasn't sure if I had to buy some because if I remember correctly, they already have some special thermal material on the bottom of the stock fan/cooler unit.

Nevermind, I figured out there is no need for the third-party material.

it's always useful, but that white ceramic stuff will work fine if you're keeping it at stock speeds.

That stuff is better then fine, keeps my 4400+ at 28c and 33c full load.

well, yeah. I guess I was just making a subtle point. Arctic silver 5 helps keep the overclocker's temps down without buying aftermarket cooling.
