Wow I'm glad you posted that, that has really changed my opinion about the Conroe line.

Conroe is Intel's first real success in the past what, four or so years?

Well, yeah until amd plays catch-up. Once they will be back in first with cheaper prices.

They may get back in 1st but it wont be for less. The only reason there high end CPU's have dropped so dramaticly is because of Conroe . Dont ya love competition

the conroe's are going to rock AMD's if you OC them as they run very cool and are faster, but are more expensive to get a decent MOBO that's known to work well w/ them since they're still new.

i have neglected to check AMD's roadmap for some time but i have no idea of any AM3. perhaps you people are referring to K8L? for the time being you are better off with Core 2 Duo hardware and should be for at least 12-18 months in my humble opinion

Dr DMoney,

It seems that we have something in common. The AM2 MoBo/CPU build that I was considering is now being challenged by a Conroe Combo. This is what I am considering for Conroe:

What do you think? I'm not trying to be a lemming, I just want to know what others have thought about.
