Am I dumb?

I have no idea what so ever RAID is. I've had up to 3 hard drives in previous computers. I just use them as 3 different storage devices. master/slave bla bla. Anyway, I see this RAID 0, RAID1, so on and so forth. I have no idea what
this means. Don't know it, don't understand it.

i was just wondering about this. I figured that RAID 0 is combining two HD as one. But thats as far as i got.

As trotter said it never hurts to ask but try wiki things first and you would get much more info than we could actually tell you ourselves.

As a matter of fact it was that very wikipedia that taught me was RAID was.

The visuals help understand the process much faster.
