Default adaptive raid

I don't suppose there is any obscure raid that allows you to add extra hdd's after creation I know its not possible with raid0,1,5,0+1 but perhaps some obscure one like raid232 that people have heard of???

???? Don't believe so not without reformatting the array and losing all saved data
