A7N8X & 2Gb Prob.

I have an Asus A7N8X (rev. 2.0) motherboard with a socket A, Athlon XP 2800+ cpu. I recently recieved 2x1gb of RAM for Christmas and the two don't work together. When I insert the RAM and turn on my pc, it just gives me 1 long and loud beep. Nothing comes up on the monitor, no bios no windows no nothing! I've also tried it on my MSI/1700+ computer and the same thing happens, just no beep. I'm beginning to think this particular ram isn't compatible with Nforce 2 chipsets. I've had some PQI ram that was 2x1gb before and it worked just fine. Can anyone help me? Is this ram dead, or is my hardware outdated...? Thanks in advance.

Thank you. I was hoping it was that. I'd rather have that then having to find some new ram or build a new pc. I'll start all that tomorrow.
