the 4870 is overall faster (especially with AA), and has support for DirectX 10.1 (which Nvidia hasn't got yet)
the 260's fold faster though

The 4870 is going for 220 after mail in rebates, with a 20 dollar discount.
So its preety cheap, about 40 bucks more than 4850?

Are you trying to call the HD4870 a crap product jk

But yeah, I would go with the 4870. Like everyone has already said.
9800GTX ~ HD4850 < 260GTX < HD4870 < 280GTX < HD4870X2

The HD4850 is barely ahead of the 9800GTX+, but just because of the support for DX10.1 and its better handling of AA... I would go with the HD4850.

huh, are you going to 4870 or 4850?

You can't go wrong with 4870 though so just get that.
Not that expensive after all

Actually i never had a 4850 but thats cool..

Ended up buying an evga 260. Came with crysis free.

I'll post up benchmarks and start folding once it gets here, and post up pics. Before I benchmark I need to fix my ram, its all running at different speeds and latencies and stuf lol

I think he wants to GPU Fold, and right now nVidia is creaming AMD at that because the new client takes advantage of their Technologies mostly CUDA
