Default 8800GT worth the upgrade?

I'm currently using two 7800GT's in SLI. Would I see a truly significant improvement in graphics if I upgrade to a single 8800GT? Would my CPU bottleneck at all? The rest of my specs: AMD64 X2 4200+ 2.2GHz, 2GB XMS Corsair PC3200, two 160GB Seagate Barracuda, Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic, 1280x1024.

I plan to play games like TF2, EQ2, and Age of Conan.

Athlon 64 X2 4200+ Manchester @ 2.2GHz ... Biostar TForce4SLI 939 ... 2GB (1GB X 2) XMS Corsair DDR400 ... PNY 9600GSO 768MB ... 2X 7200.2 Seagate Barracuda 160GB ... Cooler Master Centurion 5 ATX ... Antec TruePower Trio 550W ... Windows Vista 32-bit Premium ... Acer H213H 21.5" 1920X1080

eh there really isnt a point... unless your trying to run screen sizes of like 30 inches... the 7800 GT was in the old powermac tower and it powered a 30 inch screen on its own at 1280

You should already be able to play all those games on the highest settings with your setup right now. Maybe not the very highest on AOC because you would need DX10 for that. But you should be able to get close to, if not the highest dx9 settings for AOC.

I do not think that the upgrade to a single 8800GT would be worth it. I personally would say your fine for a good long while..

Your CPU would bottleneck it A LOT, and you would see a significant improvement in performance. Yes it's worth it...if you don't bottleneck it.

heavy CPU bottleneck!!

but it'd be worth it (just upgrade your CPU and such soon)

You got a sweet card setup as it is. I'd say your fine. Are there any benchmarks that compare the 7800GT SLI to the single 8800 GT?

a single 8800gt will destroy two 7800gt in sli, look at the 7950gw2 it allready gets killed by a single 8800gt. id say go for the 8800gt, if you can upgrade ur proc to an opteron 165/175/185, depending on which one u can find and do some heavy ocing. with a 8800gt u should score neer the 10k mark in 3dmark 06.
