yes sli 9600gt's would be better in games that support sli. but it is always better to have one mid level card vs 2 low end card.

Since you already have a 9600 GT. Grab another 9600 GT instead of the 8800 GT.

Also keep in mind that 8800 GT in SLI only outperforms 9600 GT in SLI by 10~15%. Out of 60FPS that's like a 6~8FPS difference.

So yes 8800 GT SLI is a powerful set up. But your 9600 GT SLI setup shouldn't trail too far behind.

well if i do get the 9600gt, which is deal for 60 bucks
and sli it
how long before you think agame would come out that will need upgraded cards

and doesnt everygame support sli

i have crysis , cod wow, assasins creed, fo3, and some other newer games

of course i wont need sli playing css or anything like that though

Like Rican said it depends whether your playing games that support SLI or not.

The games you listed should be fine. But with a resolution of 1440x900 you shouldn't have any issues maxing out games.

SLI/Crossfire doesn't always work though. Some games I get 100% scaling, some games scale only %50, %25, and in some I loose FPS.

4830 > 9800 GT and it's usually cheaper.

You should probably pick up that $60 9600 GT. In all honesty on a 19" monitor a single 9600 GT is more then sufficient. Unless the game in question is Crysis @1440x900.
