No you don't mess with the BIOS ever when overclocking a card...its done from windows and it's always very safe as long as you watch your temperatures.

Alright, thanks for all the help!
I overclocked my 7900 GS to 575(22%inc)/(28%inc)910 from 450/660, tested for atifracts for about 10 minutes and everything worked fine. The temperature never surpasses 75c and there is a huge noticable performance gain. I know someone who is running the card at about 81c max load.

Can't wait to try out the 8800GS

I have the 640M, and yes... to me it's worth the future use... I'm not sure what my money situation will be like in a year or more, so I bought what I could now. And at 1280x1024, Oblivion, Prey, and other games were made (to me) to render better after I got the card (I had a 7900GT previous)

NZXT Source 530 / i7-3770K / Corsair H100 / ASRock Z77 Extreme4 / SoundBlaster Recon3d
Samsung 850 PRO 512GB SSD/Seagate 1TB/2TB/WD 2TB

DO NOT BUY THE 8800................yet.

If possible, wait for the 8900's to come out, supposedly July-ish....and the prices for the 8800's will drop, ESPECIALLY for the 8800GTS 320MB. Hope this helps.
