performance increase is pretty subjective.....performance increase in what 3dmark? Games and 3dmark aren't the same thing, I've had OC's where my 3dmark goes up a ton but only avg like 1 more fps in actual games plus run into heat problems so its bad advice just to always tell people to buy slower parts and oc them as this forum always does.

Actually, 3dmark06 is pretty accurate. So you would pay extra money for an overclocked card? We say to get the stock 8800gt, which is not slow in any way, and oc it because it saves money, especially if you buy two of them.

And from the looks of your sig, you are a few generations behind so you dont really have an idea of just how good the card is.

Um my old 7900GS on stock cooling had 22% increase in performance through overclocking. I believe my 8800GT had around a 14 or 15% increase from stock.
