Hello guys. I would say that I really love to have a 8800gt or a 8800gts but its just that my budget does not work out for it.
But I have heard that the 8600gt/gts and the 2600xt/pro does not perform better than the 7950gt and the 1950pro even though they support dx10.

I would like to know if I go for 7950gt/1950pro, can I play some of the latest dx10 games such as hellgate london, crysis and bioshock with it? Are there any dx compatibility issues among them?

yes you can play all those games in DX9 mode.

And, the 7950gt is loads better than the 1950 Pro....I wouldnt' even consider the 2600 or 8600. They are crap in comparison with the 7950

You mentioned that Hellgate london, crysis and bioshock can operate in dx9 mode. So should I go with windows xp home or windows vista home premium with the 7950?

The 7950GT is a better card than the 8600...and the 7950GT can overclock as well.

The 128bit memory interface just can't handle todays games

The 8800gt 256mb is suppose to come out soon and is said to be sub $200.

Yep...sometime in November I believe so just wait for it. The 256mb version I'm going to bet will beat out the 8800GTS 640 by a fair margin for a LOT more than what people payed.

the 8800gt is a good card but the new gts will be better. with 1gb ddr3 ram and 128 pipelines
