Now, just cause they all newegg links doesn't mean u gotta buy it from there, If you can find a better price then do it. Also this is about maybe 4,500 or so, so you can get more expensive parts.
I wonder if that LCD will have good enough response times with a PVA panel. They are known to be slower than MVA panels and response times are case sensitive.....

Titanium OCZ ram? If I'm not mistaken that is server memory? Why would he need server memory? It's slower than unbuffered memory.

Also isn't Windows XP 64 kind of buggy? Maybe he should get a copy of XP Pro aswell?

Sure he can go bigger, but the bigger u get with LCD's, the lower the pixel pitch, meaning less image quality and response time also can go up which means, games might not respond as Fast. But ya he can go bigger.

A 24-inch LCD is capable of matching the performance of any 17" LCD, if it has all the right stuff.

Dude...$8000? Even if you have that much money, allocate like $5000 or so of it, and you'll have $3000 leeway.

I don't know where you'll be able to buy quad-core Opterons, I'm not sure if you CAN buy them. Most likely you can't, so I'd say to go with either a FX-57 or X2 4800+. remember the quote; "You can overclock a Dual-core to Single-Core speeds, but you can't overclock a Single-Core to Dual-Core speeds." If that doesn't mean anything to you, then go with a FX-57 for gaming and a X2 4800+ for multitasking/Office Work/Workstation.

Ya he can go Pro, sure, also its not server memory. No where does it say Server memory. It DIMM, DDR400, PC3200, non-ECC, unbuffered. Thats not even close to Server Memory.

Ah, well I couldn't remember if it was or not and newegg server is down so your link didn't work (and I can't be bothered to check the OCZ website ;p

I was there too looking at the Hyundai monitor but when I clicked on the memory link:
