i was thinking of getting a 20" CRT that handles 2048x[whatever] and try running games at that

i bet it would run nicely ... because at that high of a resolution i wouldn't need antialising.

Eh, CRTs are bad on your eyes, literally.

If you can still afford to spend more money, you could get a Dell ultrasharp 24" LCD monitor. I think they sell em on the Dell website, or just google it. My friend got one, he said it was like $900. But its huge and awesome. I'm pretty sure it can do 2048x1536 abd LCDs own CRTs in everything.

Resolution scaling only goes so far, and you don't see any ghosting or anything with lower than 12ms response times, and 8ms response times are pretty freakin good.

yeah i have an 8ms and i dont see any ghosting ... but resolutions other than the native resolution look blurry... maybe my monitor just sucks ... but on CRTs i looks way better

yah lcds only look good at the native resolutions it is not just your monitor.

Yea, its true. LCDs are best at the natice resolution like Matt2m said, but they're still very nice looking at others.

I have never seen any LCD flat panel go over 1280x1024@60hz.
