Default 8 Core Nehalem release??

Hey guys, i can only seem to find really old stuff about the 8 core Nehalems. Anyone know when they are due for release?? Is it just server chips at first?

Im thinking of doing a major upgrate at the end of the year, and im drooling over the idea of 8 cores and 16 threads - i need it for 3D graphics... cheers.

8 cores and 16 thread? from what i know i think your numbers should be halved ....4 cores and 8 threads :|

the high-end quad core chips are due to release mid sept. i think and will probably be available around october

No, Intel won't make an 8 core for Desktop. However I think it will make one for servers.

Dont you get octo-cores in Mac Pros though? At my work we have designers and so on using octo-core Mac Pro Twos with 8800GT's.

So why dont they release them and the support for windows machines?

^^ Those have two quad core processors so they aren't really octo cores.
