Interesting?

From Article:

As rumors swirl about ATI prepping a new Radeon X1950 XTX and its Radeon X1900 XT inches closer to the $299 mark, Nvidia apparently has a surprise in store for next month. Leaked Nvidia slides obtained by Chinese site IT.com.cn reveal the existence (translate here) of an upcoming GeForce 7950 GT planned for September 14. The card will reportedly be clocked at 550MHz with 24 pixel shader processors, 512MB of 700MHz memory (1.4GHz effective), and High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection built in as standard. Official pricing will be $299, just like the current GeForce 7900 GT that clocks in at 450MHz/660MHz by default and has half the memory. The GeForce 7950 GT really looks more like a GeForce 7900 GTX with 100MHz lower core and memory clocks and added HDCP support, which could make it a tantalizing choice for overclockers.

The leaked Nvidia slides also echo the upcoming retail launch (translate the page here) of the OEM-only GeForce 7900 GS. As previously reported, the retail card will feature the same 450MHz core and 660MHz memory clocks as the reference GeForce 7900 GT, but with 20 pixel shader processors instead of 24. The GeForce 7900 GS will hit stores on August 30 at a price of $199, according to the slides.

Hmm...Interesting. Makes it seem like the G80 is still pretty off if they are going to release another refresh of the 7900 series. Any news of a 7950GTX (single card)?

This would be fun, but it really doesn't matter that much.

My eVGA 7900GT KO gets 80fps on HL2 at full 6xAA 16xAS and 1600x1200.... So what's the difference if a better card gets 85 fps?

This makes no sense.

The 7950 A exact replica of the 7900GT 512MB edition.

MOVE ON!!

yes but 7950GT will be much cheaper, and it will consume less power.

Well 250 for a 7900GT
300 for a 7950GT
350 for 7900GT + 512MB

I'll take one 7950GT please :classic:
