ah i think ill just wait till my pc is completely useless then do a big spend!

there aint that many games out there that grab me right now that i need extra pc power for! ...unless you can recommend any?

Right now there isn't much, except Oblivion and maybe Supreme commander when it comes out soon.

Well one of the most anticipated PC games is Crysis. Which will be DX10 (still will run on DX9) but that game is an absolute graphic monster! As will Unreal Tournament 3 (previously named unreal tournament 2007) but I think that game will be more forgiving (it's also not DX10). 7800 GT will run those games fine but not on high or max setting to what me thinks.

ill maybe get an X-Fi sound card. Worth it?

Go for it. Games like BF2142 fully support it and it sounds awesome. Having a card like an X-Fi Xtrememusic takes strain off the cpu and can give you a slight fps advantage. I see no reason not to get an X-Fi because you can just carry that over to your new system when you start over again.
