I am deciding between getting a 7800gs or a 6800gs
But here is my problem...
one is $70 more than the other on an AGP system.
If i sacrafice this money for a 7800gs i would only have 700mb ram

so is it-

1. 7800gs (with) 700 mb ram
</OR\>
2. 6800gs (with) 1.5 gb ram

Wats so good about 7800GS, cause when i over clock 6800 i would have
16 pixle pipelines and is that extra technology such a boost in preformance
(RIGHT NOW I HAVE A)
x300 radeon
2.8 ghz P4, 1mb (L2) cache
agp motherboard
756 mb ram (2 slots left)
$300 to $350 upgradable money range

Other Questions
Basically is it worth the $100 extra dollars

Does all of this new technology really help preformance?

And if i were to wait for it to get cheaper, how long would it take?

Which setup would make my system run faster on Games like BF2
And Call Of Duty2? ?without the extra ram?

I appreciate any help or support you give me,
THANKS IN ADVANCE

I would just grab the 6800GS,It's still a really good card for the money,And if you get lucky you might be able to unlock the extra pipe's if they are not dammaged,My 6800GS play's just about every game on high with my sempron setup.

What do u suggest i use the extra $80 for,
a dvd drive with extra ram (715 extra ram = 1.5gb)
or a audigy sound card $75

A little obvious but i jus want your opinion

so 1.5 gb is to much???
i mean if i get 1.5 i can also get a dvd player
but if i get 1.0 gb i can get a DVD BURNER

(srry 4 all teh questions)

Ok, thanks for the help guys i think this is what i will go with
1gb ram (new)
2.8 ghz p4 processor (old)
6800gs AGP (new)
DVD burner (new)
Xion case (old)
with $40 more for case cooling (mayb)

THANKS A LOT GUYS
:DCant wait to play bf2 with my new 6800gs:D

Since the 6800GS's can be unlocked to 16 pipes, it's probably a better idea to stick with the 6800GS. The 7800GS has significantly better clocks though (it could OC to at least 450-500/1400). But if your on a budget, the $100 doens't make it worth it.
