I've seen the term 7600GT floating around. I'm not sure what to think of this. I've read in other places 16 pipes, which sounds a lot like a 7800GS. I read in a thread here 12 pipes... I'm not sure what to think of this thing. Currently, it's making my decision to buy a 6800GS a little harder. My computer is not currently in operation right now because I sold my other video card to get money for the new one. This threw a bit of a problem into the works. Anyone know anything about the 7600GT. Does it exist? Will we be seeing it soon?

Google suggests it doesnt exist, I have faith in google. go for a 6800gs or 7800gs, I have the agp 6800gs and it's very nice for a budget gaming card.

Well, I'll be running 1074x768 resolution, so the 6800GS will do me fine. I was just curious if the 7600GT is actually the 7800GS. If it is, it won't be happening in the PCIe flavor.

did a little more digging. These guys are saying that it'll score somewhere around 4800-5200 on 3dmark05. Where does the 6800GS score? If it's around the same (which I think it is) then I'll just get the 6800GS. It's saying 7600GT will be 12 pipes and the core at 500mhz. The memory would be 1ghz. How much more efficient is the 7*** series core than the PCIe 6800GS core?

Yep, 7600GT is 12 pipes with 500MHz core speed. Compare it to the 6800GS which has 12 pipes and 425MHz Core speed. So the 7600GT > 6800Ultra. And thats stock speeds. Overclock it :)

I don't know if I can wait a month with no PC. I think the 6800GS would be better... I wonder if the VF700-Cu cooler would fit on that 6800GS.

I'm guessing it's either going to have 16 pipes and clocks slower than the 7800GS or 12 pipes and clocks faster than the 7800GS. If it had 16 pipes and clocks similar to the 7800GS, it would make most sense for Nvidia and for marketing to just keep it the 7800GS for PCI-e.

Already told you. 12 pipes and 500Mhz Core.

buuut, I was also wondering the efficiency comparison between the two. Does it use the same architecture as the 7800's? If so, I'd still like to know how the 6800GS does clock for clock, pipe for pipe, vs. the 7*** series.
