Will i see a big difference in fps or no? I hear if your going to get a 8 series card you have to go with a 8800gts or gtx because the lower 8 series cards are hardly making more power than my 7600gt is this true? I just got crysis and its an awesome game but i can only play it on low settings i want a little more power for a cheap price. By the way im also going to upgrade to 2 gigs of ram so i should see some improvement.

i've got an 8600gts and with regards to playing crysis i think i've got it at lowe/medium settings you're best bet atm is probably and 8800gt i hear they're pretty good

8800GTS G92 Revision ~$300-$350 (December 3rd) to almost match Ultra

512MB 8800GT ~$270-$300 (price-gouging and iffy availability) Almost matches GTX

HD3870 ~$220 (availability is iffy) about 15%-22% slower than the 8800GT, but will probably come much closer with newer drivers, possibly more overclocking headroom

256MB 8800GT ~$179.99-$199.99 (soon) will probably be as good as the 512MB version but won't be able to play well at high resolutions (ie. beyond 1280x1024)

X1950PRO ~$100 (great availability) weakest card I could recommend, but will totally own that 7600GT and can play new games great, but in DX9 mode (no major visual difference really) Crysis -> medium settings @ 1280x1024 = playable

I've ordered them by the price and power. All of them will offer great performance/power ratios, it's just a matter of how much you're willing to spend.

I like the 8600gts cause of the price and its available right now. So i figure if i got that card and 2 gigs of ram i should play medium on crysis shouldnt I?? I mean crysis does look amazing on low so medium should be really awesome.

yo trust me, the 8600GTS is a rip off. The gap between the 8600GTS and the 8800GT is tremendous. Wait at least for the 256MB version which will replace the 8600GTS price-wise. If you're really that pressed to buy something now, the HD3850, I believe, will at least be a better option than the 8600GTS in that price range.

If you can't afford a 8800GT then get a HD 3870....if you can't afford that then get a HD 3850, which is about the same price as a 8600GTS but LOADS better

Will i see a huge difference between my 7600Gt and a HD 3850? God i have way to many expensive hobbies kinda sucks lol.
