$750 upgrade

I am upgrading a friends system and he has a budget of $750. He doesn't need a HDD, OS, or monitor. I already have a few build ideas in mind, just figured i would jump over here to get some fresh perspectives before i order the parts.

AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor

XFX HD-687A-ZHFC Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16

ASRock 970 EXTREME4 ATX AMD Motherboard

OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W

That's what i have so far, no clue on a good/cheap heat-sink. Hope to get some good ideas floating around, i have no issues going with a completely new build.

Whats he use his computer for mostly?
If its gaming switch to the Phenom II X4 9xx BE.

For a good cheap heatsink can't go wrong with either:
CM Hyper 212+ $30
Corsair CAFA70 $42 ($15 rebate)

Also need an optical drive?

*Edit - Comes to around $632 with an X4 and CPU cooler, can bump the GPU up to a 6850.
