Default $700ish budget for new gaming rig

I use to be pretty hardcore into gaming, the computer I have now I finally have to abandon, I have an AMD x2 4400+, just recently grabbed an 8800 from an RMA of my old 7800GTXs with 1.5GB ram, it's lasted me a while (mostly due to the fact that I haven't played much of anything in the past year) but I'm wanting to upgrade. I have about $700 available to spend, I don't need a monitor, os, keyboard, mouse, headset, hard drive or sound card. I'm going to reuse the ones I already have because I love them my usage is going to be that of a pretty casual gamer, and honestly most of my time will be spent in counter-strike 1.6 which you can play on a phone probably at this point. I'll be playing just random stuff like world of warcraft, starcraft2, call of duty, some source games when I get bored, but of course I havent tried any 'newer' games because my computer couldnt handle them so I'd like to know if it'd handle new games on a decent setting. I also do a little bit of photo editing because photography is a hobby of mine. Thoughts on what I have? Also planning on OCing the proc a little bit that's why I grabbed an aftermarket hs/fan just to be safe and I've heard bad things about the stock one.

Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05-UW Black Aluminum Bezel , SECC Chassis ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Newegg.com - MSI R5770 Hawk Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Newegg.com - G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL

Newegg.com - ASUS SABERTOOTH 55i LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard

Newegg.com - Intel Core i5-750 Lynnfield 2.66GHz 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Processor BX80605I5750

Newegg.com - Thermaltake Silent 1156 CLP0552 92mm CPU Cooler For Intel Socket LGA1156

and then either grab a $20 DVD/CD combo or just use the one I have now, not sure, I don't really use my drive much other to install games and to put movies on my computer.

Total price $693

Also, I'm clueless about a good power supply, if somebody could recommend one I'd appreciate it. I was thinking I wouldn't need more than 500W, correct?

I look up the part I know I'll need (e.g. i7 920) then scroll down to the bottom of the page and click 'view all combos'

I don't need a hard drive, I have more than I know what to do with and just recently bought a 1TB HD and I have a few 320GB/500GBs lying around, I don't need an OS either I already have it (microsoft hooked it up when I worked at best buy just before the launch of 7) are those cpus you guys are posting better than the i5 I posted? if not maybe i'll just grab something similar to that build of yours but with an i5/intel mobo and just go with a 460

Phenom II x4 965 = i5 750 in performance but not price. AMD mobos are also less expensive than Intel's.

With the combo discount you would be getting the WD Black drive for $30. The Blacks are super-fast and nearly match the speeds of the Raptor series. That 500GB would make an awesome OS drive.
