Anyone have expirence with the built in power supply and know if it will support the graphics card?

im gonna wait on the os till windows 7 comes out or Il put xp in it cause vista is a hog.... i already have a dvd drive

Definitely need some fixing here.

Currently working on a build, give me a few.

EDIT: Is your budget dead set on $700? I was trying to price out a hugely better processor/board combo with a better GPU, but I can only get it under 800 bucks.

I See what you mean about the CPU and motherboard. I could get a X2 7850 CPU Newegg.com - AMD Athlon X2 7850 Black Edition Kuma 2.8GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache 2MB L3 Cache Socket AM2+ 95W Dual-Core Processor - Processors - Desktops for 20 bucks more but it draws 95 watts vs 45 watts and i wanted a small case which heat is a concern. The motherboard doesnt have that many options but i tend to disable most anyways I went with a 4850 vs the 260 due to nvidia being larger. ECS and Gigabyte are brands i have tried before and both are good quality. AMD's are easier to put together. As for the GPU I couldn't find nothing cheaper for the performance.....

I like motherboards without onboard video cause they tend to be more stable. but they are rare for mini atx I just wish they will come with a motherboard with just 1 lan, 4usb ports and leave the video, sound off the board......

Alright, I'm going to post the build I have at the moment. It's over 700 bucks, but I'm sure we can work with something, or if you have the extra scratch to spend, DO IT. Check it out.

Total comes to $770.93 after shipping, then you get 40 bucks back in MIRs. That takes it to $730.93 after all is said and done.

Not only was your CPU iffy, but ECS is a TERRIBLE brand. Also, that PSU wouldn't have run the 4850.

So here's what we got going on. I got you a quad core, 4gb of good RAM, a 4870 1gb, much better motherboard with a better chipset, and a decent sized case with a better PSU.

Now, I had to skimp SLIGHTLY on the monitor. The 40 bucks it saved was vital. That 22" monitor is still great, never heard anything but good stuff about it. Almost got it myself before they had that 24 hour sale at newegg, and I got something else.

Same HDD for you, same keyboard/mouse combo...

Trust me mate, if you have the money to spend on this, go for it.

^^^ I have that monitor. I love it to death :] sure i've only had two monitors in my whole life but i still love it. I only wish it had a higher resoluation but oh well..it's cheap and a great value.

hikar has a great build going even though it's a bit over your budget. I would personally just save up for it instead of cutting corners. Seeing how you want to wait for 7 you got a couple months to save (unless you plan on using the RC that's out now)

Why not use Hikari's build with a new Phenom II X3 or X2? That should shave off a little unless the combo deal was just THAT good.

The combo deal is just that good. :p The best x3 720 combo deal is about the same cost.

Could throw in a 7750 instead, but it wouldn't save all that much money. Maybe 40 bucks or so with a decent mobo, and for 40 more bucks I would buy a quad any day. :p

Don't understand why he does, I don't think he's from CA or NJ. I thought maybe he meant shipping since he excluded that.

EDIT: Or not...all his items have free shipping...hmm.

Well I guess in that case he could get a 7750 and some 770 or 780G board.

You have to pay tax for any state with which Newegg exists in. That includes office buildings or warehouses.

As far as I know, Newegg has buildings in the following states:
* Edison, New Jersey
* Los Angeles, California
* Memphis, Tennessee

So perhaps he is from Tennessee?
