Default 7.2k, 10k , 15k Hard disk

Today alot of people go mostly with the 7200 RPM hard drives. But am looking for something a bit more speedy. I heard the 5k hard drive overheats too much .... but is very fast (About 1 sec to boot up to the windows log in screen). Am not too sure with the 10k. And teh 7.2 is slow.

Whcih one should i stick with? Thanks

The 10k will be a lot faster. 15k is for scsi, and the drives alone can cost over $1000, and the scsi cards are like $500.

Here is a 15k scsi hard drive:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822116153
Take note of the price.
Here is a scsi card:

Also, take note of the price. Not only that, but the SCSI card is PCI-x, which only server motherboards have, and a decent server board is around $300-$500.

You can get cheap SCSI cards for like $20 but they are like **** and only work with older drives. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16816103300

68-pin cards start in the hundreds, and goes up dramatically from there.

its not just RPM that counts in a drives speed but its specs. 7200RPM drives are not slow unless you try to do many things at once. SCSI is really intended for enterprise.
