Default 6Mb L3 Cache vs. 8Mb L3 Cache for gaming.

I was comparing the i5-2500k Sandy Bridge and the i7-2600k Sandy Bridge and noticed that the only real difference (other than the i5 not supporting hyper-threading) was differences in Cache Size. For gaming, would 2 more Mb of cache size effect performance at all?

i5 - Newegg.com - Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80623I52500K

i7 - Newegg.com - Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80623I72600K

Difference in terms of gaming performance is minimal. Better to save the extra $100 or put it towards a better video card.

Alright cool, thanks. By chance could you tell me what someone would be doing that would benefit from those two extra Mbs?

People doing encoding, programming, video editing will benefit bit more from a bigger cache size.
