Tom's is reputable, yes, however they favour ATI. it's in video card benchmarks that ATI always seems to be ahead, even in games that the Nvidia cards perform beter by everyone elses results.

Doom 3 is where Nvidia's 6000 series cards are always better than ATI's, but in Tom's, they are somehow about equal.
this shows Nvidia's 6800 plain ahead in most cases, however they had an 80fps cap on the GT and Ultra so it doesn't show how well they can really perform

I've only loked at a couple of pages from this site, the benchmarks were made a year ago, before Nvidia made better drivers for their cards. however they still pull ahead in doom 3
