I would personally wait until the direct x 10 and Nvidia 8000 series comes out. It should be much better then the 7900. Although it is said to be released around the time that Vista gets released which was dated around January I think, although that date will more then likely get pushed back some.

G80 will probably come out about 2 months before vista, so around anywhere from november to jan. So buy now and love your kickass gfx.
