6600 Gt/6800 Gt/7800 Gt...

Right now im running an X2 3800+ and a 7800GT and i run at a constant 60 FPS in Quake4 on high settings and whatnot on.
But if youre gonna get one card in the next 6 months id wait and see what ATI comes out with. The 1X00's or whatever they are. They sound promiseing.
But if youre gonna upgrade twice for vid cards in the next 6 months you coul get an SLI mobo and run dual 6600s or 6800s or 7800s.get one now and match the othe one later.
pc club has that 3D1 one thing that comes with two 6600Gts for like 260.Thats what i'd do.
But SLIs a touchy subjects to some people, I guees its all in opinion. Some like it some dont.
Or wait to see ATIs crossfire and their mid or lower end cards and do the same thing with those.

Check out this article. They benchmark Quake4 using an X2 3800+ paired with a variety of graphics cards so that will give you a good idea of what the different cards will perform like in your system.
