650$ Build

Thats my budget in CANADIAN dollars. Im willing to go either AMD or intel. Considering my budget im thinkig AMD is likely the way to go. Im thinking perhaps a 64 3500 might be good. I want 1gig of 667 44412 ram ...probably gskill ddr2 and a sata 2 WD caviar 16mb buffer HD. Help me maximize the potential of this budget (includes case and psu). Below are some ideas for components

With a cheap case it come to about 600$...Now for 10-20$ more I could go for a pentium D 805 2.66 GHz on the asrock conroe compatible Mobo. Would this be better? How does the AMD 64 3200 compare to the Pentium D 805?

thats a good system what cpu tho i dont recomend semphron i dotn know much about them but i hear they are the equivelent to a intel celeron wich suck

I was thinking a Athlon 64 3000-3500. Now im thinking perhaps I should go the budget intel route. How does the Pentium D 805 stack up against the old athlon 64 3200?

I would get this cheap ASROCK mobo and be able to pop a conroe in at christmas. Bad idea going for asrock? I would go for the ds3 but its a 100$ difference.

get a better budget (save up more), and gett everything at christmas, your just wasting your money right now.

WOuld much wiser to wait a lil and get eveyrthing you want

your system looks fine, also what is a e6899? or did you just accidentally hit the 9 instead of the 0?
