I had one last quick question, I have heard that the x2 cards have some trouble is games where a single gpu does better.

From what i have heard recently the drivers are much better now and with new ones you shouldnt have a problem.

undoubtedly I did overlook the AA settings used in the benching, and it is no suprise that with it's massive bandwidth the 4890 will barely edge out the GTX 275 but then again are the differences noticeable?

The GTX275 was more aimed at synthetics it seems.

Regardless they are both monstrous cards for their price points compared to just a year ago

I'm gonna be glad when ATi releases drivers for 4890 xFire and see how those bad boys truly perform

I didn't mean to high jack the thread but I had to chime in on nVidia's defense lol

I would get a 4890 for now. It should handle pretty much anything you throw at it on a 21 in. monitor.

When games come along and it begins to struggle, I would add a 2nd 4890.......unless there is a better option at the time. That is just my personal opinion.

Get the 4850 X2. The card is amazing, and it'll fit in a HAF (Love that case). Nuff said.
