Default 4870 mem question

A friend of mine is going to buy a 4870, and he wants to make sure the card he gets has qimonda mem chips. I've heard there are a couple different types... qimonda, hynix, samsung... any idea which manufacturers use Qimonda?

Default Re: 4870 mem question

i would not worry too much about the mem chips too much, i would worry about the manufacture. i would go with XFX, as they are more likely to use higher quality parts ion their cards.
