Default Are the 4870 and 260 GTX currently overpriced?

I am already thinking in my next build, and have enough money to buy it. I was curious, if waiting 1 month would lower the prices a bit.

Anyone know if there is an expected price drop on any of this 2 video cards?

i wouldnt expect too much of a drop at all.. probably 10-20 dollars maximum.. they've both already had price cuts... nvidia's cuts being extremely massive... the gtx260 started at 450 dollars... and is now 300.... 150 drop in like 2 months.. i wouldnnt expect much more

You can actually get the GTX 260 from MSI for just $230 after MIRB. That's something to jump on NOW, IMO.

They aren't overpriced, the GTX 260 was at first but not anymore.

cards are really overpriced on release, for them to make money off ppl that want the best of the best straight away. its always best to wait till at least the first drop in price.

maybe wait till they switch to 55nm, i'm sure they'll drop prices a bit then. Besides that, I doubt they'll be dropping much

GTX 260 is currently 65nm, and should drop to 55nm, and with that you'd naturally expect a price drop.

4870 is 55nm.

Newegg.com - POWERCOLOR AX4870 512MD5-H Radeon HD 4870 512MB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards
$254 after MIR and a free game (Grid)

Considering this card is better than the GTX 260 and nearly competes with GTX 280, I'd say 4870 is the better buy.
