Default 3dmark06 score

So my score is 10,523... isn't that pretty crappy for what I have with my setup?? Or have I just spent a whole lot of money for no good reason.

no thats reasonable. The AMD cpu you have is creating a bottleneck

for what you have thats about right yeah.

I mean ok you have the cpu oc'd to 3.1ghz BUT its not the fastest processor in the world is it.
If you had a Q6600 for example you'd probably be getting around 12-13k with stock speeds

yeah.. i figured I was bottlenecking my system.. what exactly is happening with that? Is the processor too slow to keep up with the computer? or what

Basically...your CPU isn't fast enough to take full advantage of the GPU.

Pretty much it, if you think you're being bottlenecked with that, you haven't seen Wildside with his HD 3870X2 and his 5000+ BE

ewww 680i.... it sucks... get a 750i FTW or something

and dude a 750i FTW + q6600 would cost $400, getting a Liquid Cooler for $100 is just plain stupid, don't care about 3dmark06 scores, and just see if you can play your games (which you can easily)

i just found this....i think maybe i will get a bigger monitor instead of a quad core cpu....
here, read this:

(Dr.) Bottlenecks: Or, How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Just Buy the GPU - Overclock.net - Overclocking.net

it will open your eyes to "bottlenecking".
play your games with your cpu at different clock speeds and use fraps to see if the FPS change.
