pretty much

benchmarks are showing less than a few FPS difference between the x2 and crossfired 3870's

wat would be more cost effective... 4 3870's or 2 of these bad boys?

Are they planning to make an 8800 ultra x2 (ya i know it will be a 9 series card)

Because all i saw so far was one that was basically 8800 gt 512 x2... the 9800 gx2 right?


Veedub did they purpousely make it so that you could only xfire 2 of them?

IIRC the 9800gx2 is actually 2 8800gts 512mb stuck together. It has 2 boards stuck together unlike the 3870x2. I don't think they will make one with 2 ultras since the gts 512mb is close in performance to a Ultra.

i think they're doing both software crossfire, and hardware crossfire, which would make it 8 gpus...just a theory...8 would be a little TOO much though
