3770k vs 4770 z77 vs 87 motherboard?

I had to find that to show you how a board at the price can handle an 8ghz, 4 core overclock with over 1.9V vcore

that board is good though, you save a lot with the combo. I would get it if I had the money.

Those were done with only a single module, and a single RAM stick at lower speeds. The latest now is 8.7GHz with an 8150 under LN2.

Not all overpriced boards clock well though.

He was merely giving an example of what more expensive boards are for.

Pretty much all Intel Z boards offer the same stuff, so getting anything more expensive makes no sense. I personally prefer ASRock simply because their track record has been clean for a while, their CS was great (when I called them), and I have had the pleasure of dealing with a ton of their boards the past year. Not only that, but they typically offer the same or better for cheaper.

So I did some shopping today
Got the 4770k and Asus pro mobo
Not the best looking mobo but it has a few features I like
My memory is coming in a few days from newegg
My question is i have my old ocz ddr3 triple channel memory
Will it work with this setup for now or should I just wait till I get
The new memory from newegg?

It'll work. I used to have that same kit in my old i5 setup along with my HyperX T1's.

Yea I know i don't like the colors either but it's going to
Be inside a case so i don't care for it as much.

I'm going to put it together now and fire it up
I'll see how it goes.
