Default 37" < hdtv that i could use instead of my monitor

i want to completely throw away my current monitor and use a high definition tv inplace of it... im looking to spend ~$1000, any suggestions

Here's a good one:

@ 1080p resolution, you'll be do your thing at 1920 x 1080, so if you game, make sure you videocard can handle it.

Now if you don't need that big of a resolution:

@ 720p you'll be doing your thing at 1366 x 768, thats less pixels than 19" 1440 by 990, you won't need such a good videocard games.
