Default $300 CPU/MoBo/RAM

My friends socket 775 MoBo died and he needs a new CPU, MoBo, and RAM. I haven't been in the loop for a while so I don't know what I should get him. He doesn't care weather or not it's an AMD or Intel build but he does want a quad core with at least 4GB of RAM.

Thanks for the help

this is what i have in my build and im 100% happy with my choice. plus you have $50 left over.

Newegg.com - BIOSTAR A880G+ AM3 AMD 880G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Newegg.com - G.SKILL Sniper 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-8GBSR

Newegg.com - AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor HDZ965FBGMBOX

the motherboard isnt the best but it has everything you pretty much need unless your going to do some crazy stuff lol but you can always choose a different one if he doesnt like that mobo

edit... if you get this mobo then it comes out to $295 and its a better mobo. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131654

Those are good parts, but if you are going to go with AMD, I would suggest getting a MOBO that has an AM3+ socket. So you could possibly upgrade it later. And not have to by a new board.
