i want to upgrade my comps ram from 1 gig to either 2 gigs or 3 gigs, what would be the better choice, i've already used 2 slots, so its either 2 gigs full of 3 gigs full, or 1.5 gigs

give me more system specs. 3 gigs is a complete waste of money, so wipe that off the slate.

Since you have 3 slots, I'm going to make a semi-risky assumption that you have a processor that doesn't support dual channel memory. 1.5 gigs is plenty, but you may as well go for 2, since it'll be pretty normal in a year or two.

2gb. 3gb will slow you down.

2gb will also be a waste if the system is slow to begin with, or if it uses memory under pc3200.
