Default 3/4pin fans

is there any way to remove the 3 pin connection to the fan with out ruining the 4pin molex connector?

yes, its pretty simple. Cut the connector off, the red wire is obviously positive while the black one is negative, solder it to a molex connector and you won't need a adaptor which looks messy.

I hope that is what you were asking for.
