Im buying an customised PC already built for me from any parts I select from thier website but ive hit a bump, im not sure what Graphic card solution i should go with.

Ive got 2 choices,

Either

2x 256MB nVIDIA GeForce 7950 GT - nVIDIA SLI™ Configuration

OR

1GB (2x 512MB GPU) nVIDIA GeForce 7950 GX2 - HDTV, 2xDual Link DVI

the website im ordering from are offering me both the cards for the exact same price but the 7950GT is in SLI while the 7950gx2 is just the single card.

Which one should i go for? Which would be better suited. Im not an overclocker so wont be overclocking my system nor will i be upgrading the system for a while, (least 2 years) Since im not an hardcore gamer & plus i only seem to play RTS games and not games like half life 2

since that powersupply comes witht the case i would get a better power supply, you dont want a cheap psu to ruin such a bad *** setup, ive seen it happen before :(

As i know 7950GX2 can beat two 7900GT, but i don't know if it can beat two 7950GT.

But however as i know 7950GT has 512MB, not 256MB.

well that 550 watt psu is not enough juice to run 2 7950gx2's... you'd need at least 700 watts to run that system with 2 7950gx2's...

i personally would go for 2 7950gt's, seeing as they're just slightly downclocked 7900gtx's they should perform more than good enough for any game

But being downclocked, wouldnt the 7950gx2 be better then? if the 2x 7950GT is downclocked? Or have i got the wrong end of the stick.

2 7950 gt's will perform better than a 7950gx2, 2 7900gtx's in sli pwn 1 7950gx2 pretty well.. and 7950 gt's are only a tad bit behind the 7900gtx's... soo, i dunno... if you do want the gx2 get a better power supply

I don't see why everyone is getting such beefy cards.

A single x1900xtx with a dual core CPU should Max out every game out right now.

DX 10 is just above the horizon.

Why waste your money?

and i'll totally agree with you

but if you got the money, hey why not?

and thats every game "right now".. what about.. in like 3 months.. with spore.. ut2007 and crysis!!!... thats the only reason i'm considering crossfire
