right, he could get a 3870X2, but he might get an 8800GT and find it's plenty of power, and if not he can always add another later, and possibly be near or better performance than a 3870X2... if he got 2 GTS's he almost certainly would be

The 256mb can handle it fine too, yes even with 4xaa and stay well above 50fps even in intense battle.
