very top one by acer, its nice and cheap, does that make it rubbish? Is the dell one worth the extra £80 (about $140)

I've read reviews on that Acer and apparantly its not bad, but the dell one is a lot better.

I have a 19" dell, and I can honestly say its the best monitor I've ever used, not only is the build quality awesome, (which is what the Acer lacks apparantly), but the screen is pure quality, brilliant blacks, superb whites, and brilliant brightness.

I reccomend the Dell, definitely.

"LG L2000C. The best 20.1" LCD there is"

The LG L2000c only has a response time of 8ms, That is not the best response time available.

LOL, you really don't know what you're talking about. Most response times mean jack, as companies all over rate them. There is no 20" LCD with a time lower than 8ms, and if there were, it would be using a TN panel, as do most LCDs, which are crap. It would do you good to read this:

Thumbs up for that Acer. Look below though, holy crap; 24" LCD with 6ms response time, and still in your price range, lol.

A 20.1 widescreen will seem a lot smaller than your old one because it isnt as tall, thats why when I came from a 21" crt i had to get a 24" widescreen to match it.

Try to find a 20.1" widescreen in person and see if you like the size.
