2 fans stacked on each other going 1 direction...?

Has anyone tried putting 2 fans back to back. Both pushing air the same direction?

My case has an intake fan, but you cant see it from inside the case. The interior is red and black theme. Just wondering what would happen if I stacked another fan ( corsair AF 140mm red/black ) directly behind the non visable intake fan.

It causes turbulence which is bad. Don't do this for any particular purpose unless it's for fun.

A few servers do this due to pressure issues and there not being space for large fans... But it's not a good idea to do it, ever, unless you have something like a heatsink or radiator between the fans. Direct stacking them is just bad once you go above ~40mm

That is about pointless... stacking fans doesn't increase CFM, it's meant for increasing pressure that the fans can apply...

I've seen if you make a spacer to go between the fans, the turbulence is cut significantly.. Butstill sorta useless.

In some situations it's good if you gut a fan and use the shell for more directed airflow. Like on a heatsink where the deadspot won't cool if it's right on the heatsink. Works the same for radiators too.
