OK, after trying to buy a dell xps 410 and then upgrade various components I've been told to just build the entire thing. Looking to stay around $2000, I'd be hesitant to spend much more, and I am definitely open to suggestions on lowering the cost. Don't need anything super top of the line, just want a good gaming computer that will last me for a while. Here's what I came up with.

First off that PSU is ok but here is what's known as the very best PSU just about.

Don't worry about it having 80 less watts...a single 8800GTS will run on 400w's and SLI can run on 500 so a 620 one of those will work awesome. It's about the same price I think too.

Next That monitor is overkill, what makes it so good is the 2MS response time. That's nice but 2MS isn't needed. Save yourself a hundred bucks and go with something like this, Acer make quality monitors and 5ms is fine for gaming and everything.

Next I'm not to sure about the PK white model of the G.Skill. I'm sure it would work great but every person I have ever known to have these noted them as amazingly fast ram.

I myself have them and they can hit DDR2-1160 at 2.15v...simply amazing. Not that the white won't work it's just that I KNOW these are fast as ****.
